The first possible case of recurrent arachnidism in Chile is reported. The bite was caused by the Chilean recluse spider Loxosceles laeta. The victim presented a painful, burning erythema covered by blisters in the bite site. These symptoms appeared three years after the initial bite and occurred again the following year. It is hypothesized that the present case of recurrent arachnidism could be due to new bites, contact with similar compounds in the venom or infection. It is concluded that to confirm any of these hypothesis, laboratory testing is needed.
